No

When you are in Edit task window, Attachments tab, you are not able to launch a particular attachment by selecting it and clicking on the folder "Open Attachment". Neither work the "right click" menu "open attachment".

....I forgot (sorry) some additional info.
The "open all attachments" command (right click in the main activity window) WORKS perfectly (with the same attachment).
All the above, having chosen the reference subfolder for attachments.

    Hi Daniele,

What kind of attachment? I just tested with a HTML attachment and an image on Mac OS X and both worked fine.

    Thanks, Frank

    Hi fniessink
....many thanks for your great, great job.
Any type of attachments (pdf, doc, txt, jpg, etc).
When I attach the document, the Type column in the Edit Task>>Attachment window is a red folder. It seems that this prevent the opening of the attachment in this window, but not if I choose Open all attachments in the Task coach window.
As soon as I disable the Attachments base folder (Preferences>>File) and I attach a new document, the Type folder is light blue and the attachment opens.
As supplementary checks, I upgraded Python to the last version and downloaded all old versions of Task Coach: nothing change.

    Bye
    Daniele

....sorry, I didn't notice that your real name is Frank.

    Hi, Frank...

    Hi Daniele,

The base folder is meant to be used if you store your attachments on a movable device (i.e. a memory stick). Is that why you are using it?

    Thanks, Frank

    Hi Frank,
My base folder is a Dropbox folder (the cloud service) that I use to keep synchronized all my 5 Macs. I'd like to make all Task coach attachment references relatives to the base Dropbox folder (that is obviously identical in all my Macs, but in different positions with respect to root directory of each Mac). In such a way I'd like to be able to open attachments no matter which machine I use.
In the dropbox folder there are also multiple instances of Task Coach, each of them "personalised" for each Mac. I launch a different Task Coach instance depending on the Mac I'm working onto.
This way to proceed is very usual for Mac users (as you certainly knows) and, in some way, is very similar to use a movable device. I'm obliged to use different instances of Task coach because it seems to me that an instance personalized for a particular Mac doesn't properly work if launched from another Mac (but this is not a major issue).
This is my "organization" but, in my understanding, should not to be related with the strange behaviour I highlighted (maybe I'm wrong) because when it happens I'm working just on one machine.

    Thanks for your attention
    Daniele

So, just to be sure: the attachments you cannot open are in your Dropbox folder?

    Thanks, Frank

yes, all the attachments are somewhere in the dropbox folder (i.e., "down" the base folder), even if in different subfolders.
I didn't try to attach files that are "up" the base folder (of course it is not interesting for me)
    thanks

    Hi Frank,
    I've just installed v 1.2.1.
It works, but the Type column in the Attachments tab doesn't show any value (no red nor blue folder). Of course, this latter issue is definetely not a problem, as the main functionality has been restored.
    Thanks again for your job.
    Have a nice day.
    Daniele
