Hi, I've recently purchased a WM6.1 device (HTC Touch Diamond) as an upgrade to my Nokia 6680. I'm running Ubuntu Hardy x86_64 with all the latest updates. I successfully synced the 6680 with Evolution using opensync, and then configured a separate sync group for the HTC according to the guide here: http://www.synce.org/moin/SynceWithUbuntu. I also installed usb-rndis-lite according to information I found here: http://www.nabble.com/following-the-instructions-but-not-getting-the-results-:-(-td17717049.html. However.... It seems that when syncing from evolution to the HTC, I have some problems: 1) Some of the phone numbers present in evolution don't synchronize to the phone. The entry gets created, but there is no information. However, most work correctly--even ones with values in the notes field. 2) This is the biggest one: it appears that each time I sync with evolution, I get no updates to the device and I get complete duplicates of the existing contacts in evolution. This is a *major* issue for me as I have several hundred contacts. Calendar entries don't seem to sync at all, and I also get duplicate todo items. None of the other categorized items (other than 'Personal' in Evolution) seem to be considered during the sync (probably an evo2 plugin issue, but thought I'd ask anyway). 3) Photo information associated with the contacts on the device are not correctly displayed in evolution. I've exported an individual vcf (via beam to linux with bluetooth) and it uses VCARD1.2 with the ENCODING=Base64 whereas the exported VCF of the same contact from evolution doesn't have any encoding at all--not even the b: value that's supposed to be there according to the VCARD3.0 spec. This isn't too crucial, but it's annoying. Here's my sync related software: $ dpkg --list '*sync*' Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold | Status=Not/Installed/Config-f/Unpacked/Failed-cfg/Half-inst/t-aWait/T-pend |/ Err?=(none)/Hold/Reinst-required/X=both-problems (Status,Err: uppercase=bad) ||/ Name Version Description +++-==============-==============-============================================ ii libopensync0 0.22-2 Synchronisation framework for email/pdas/and ii libpisync1 0.12.3-4ubuntu synchronization library for PalmOS devices ii libsynce0 0.12-0ubuntu0~ Helper library for SynCE, a tool to sync Win ii libsyncml-util 0.4.5-1 SyncML protocol library utilities ii libsyncml0 0.4.5-1 SyncML protocol library ii multisync-tool 0.92.0~svn355- PIM Synchronization Command Line Tools ii multisync0.90 0.92.0~svn355- PIM Synchronization Tool ii opensync-modul 0.22-1 Python module for OpenSync ii opensync-plugi 0.22-2ubuntu1 Evolution plugin for opensync ii opensync-plugi 0.22-2 Opensync file plugin ii opensync-plugi 0.11.1-1ubuntu SynCE plugin for OpenSync pn opensync-plugi <none> (no description available) ii opensync-plugi 0.22-2 Opensync SyncML plugin ii opensyncutils 0.22-2 Command line utilities for libopensync ii python-opensyn 0.22-2 Python bindings to the opensync synchronisat un python2.4-open <none> (no description available) un python2.5-open <none> (no description available) ii rsync 2.6.9-6ubuntu2 fast remote file copy program (like rcp) ii synce-dccm 0.9.1-3 Daemon to keep a connection to your WinCE de pn synce-hal <none> (no description available) un synce-serial <none> (no description available) ii synce-sync-eng 0.11.1-1ubuntu Synchronization engine for Windows Mobile de Since there's so many moving parts here, I'm not sure where to start. However, I think some of the issue may be in the synce side since I've had previous success with the existing evo2 plugin from the 6680. Any ideas as to how best to get everything working?
