    Hello,
We have deployed 2.1.2 version of symmetricds for Oracle 11G data replication on linux environment. After data is synchronsed to multiple clients, same is stored in tmp files under temp directory of server. File names starts with extract.XXXX.sym.tmp . It's observed that after successful replication of data, data is not removed from these files and files keeps on accumulating on server.

we have observed data from some files is deleted and resulting in 0 file size and in several cases data is not deleted. can u please s tell us how symmetrricds removes these files? and how can i fix this problem? , now the filesystem temp size is 40GO, the disk is full, and the replication is stopped.

    Thanks in advance

It sounds like a bug. It might be worth upgrading to the 3.5 series of SymmetricDS, which has settings to control purging of the temp files. In your version, you can stop the server and clear out its tmp folder. It regenerates any tmp files that it needs. You could do that as part of a weekly maintenance process.

We also encountered this problem. We are using version 2.5.5. If we arrange a cron job to remove old files there, say, remove all extract.XXXX.sym.tmp files that are older than 2 hours, without restart the server, would that cause any problem?

    Thanks!
