Apparently this got solved, don't ask me how. We talked about this with customer's DBA and we're still not sure if they fixed the date or if it simply started working.

has anyone faced this error before ?
ORA-01801: date format is too long for internal buffer
In accordance with Oracle documentation this could be due to invalid date.
Customer does have some strange dates [1899-12-12] would be one of them.
Is there any settings regarding date that could pinpoint this ?
This error is coming from one of symmetric triggers.
I'm not sure which info I should paste here.
If you can provide a table definition and an example insert statement that demonstrates the error that would be helpful.
