A language with a much larger pool of users, like Python or > Perl, would be a better option. I don't know enough about Python or Ruby, so I don't know which one of them would be the best choice. But I definitely don't think that this decision should be based on how many users there are for each language. If we build our system by quantiative norms, we would end up with a copy of Windows XP! "So, why make an OS of our own? An OS with a much larger pool of users, like Windows or Linux, would be a better option......" ;) Ok, I do realize that there is a point in choosing a language that we know (belive) will live on, and a language that people actually know how to use... :) (But perl is out the question as a default scripting language, simply because it's to hard to learn, and IMHO written for (and by) unix hackers...) --- Kind Regards, Henrik Isaksson |
