Since some people would probably still want to access functions like ifconfig via the console for bug hunting and whatever, this could lead to unnecessary duplication of code (and thus bugs). However, creating a script in a GUI app, then parsing that script again to call other programs seems a bit like overkill, too. What about putting all the code necessary to manipulate the configuration and the code for the meat part of ifconfig & co. into a library? This way, both the GUI app and CLI apps can reuse the same code. Just my €0.02 cu, Nicolai |
