Good day everyone, I have written a C++ script, which uses an API of a Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) program to build a geometry with input of certain parameters (now done with a .txt file though this is always a cause of precision errors). Now I want to build a GUI for this code with python, which will allow the user to define the parameters. Is it possible – with SWIG – to directly define the parameters of the C++ code (some will be input by the user, others will be calculated) and then calling the executable? I have tried this with a short example but wasn’t successful. Defining the wrapped parameters was possible as was using the wrapped functions but the new values weren’t transferred at runtime to the exe. This is what I was afraid of since the executable is compiled separately – and I don’t think that SWIG is supposed to work that way. I’m not sure if wrapping the entire C++ code will do me any good at the end because of all the non-standard libraries used by the CAD Program’s API. What do you guy’s think? Is there a way to get this idea to work? Will wrapping the entire C++ code be worth a try?
