Thanks, Silvia. But I've been there, done this - firstly, that Sweep install on the "second" HD is perfecly Ok., and as long as there's not a _major_ improvement of Sweep (e.g., re memory requirements) there'd no reason for me to change it. Secondly, re-compiling Sweep on that now "first" HD is not doable, (a) as there is not the whole compiling shabang on it there, and (b) seen the whole cluster of needed additional prior/auxiliary prog.s/lib.s; cf. my post to this list of 31 Jul 2003. And (c), this present system install on the "first" HD is no _meant_ to do anything else but run apps. (One idea with this is to have it comparatively easy to backup/replicate, _without_ the voluminous "full system" paraphernalia.) [Matter of economy but that issue sees to drift out of sight for number of Lx developments.] -hc REM re Mdk.: for me their version 8.2 has shown to be rather reliable and stable. I have experimented with 9.2 and 10 with bad results - they seem to go the Win$ trail, "bleeding edge" gadgetry and "old" peripherals not supported any more. Argh. |
