I just loaded FFTW from www.fftw.org, sweep 12, and the Planet CCRMA rpm = of=20 swh-plugins. Seems a little better. I can run a file through one pass of = the=20 MBE with the shelf cut about 9db. But if I change a couple of bands, or r= erun=20 the file, the 0db explosion happens - here's a picture: <http://www.sulger.net/SoundSculptures/sweep.gif> I tried the Higher quality pitch scalar; not sure what the result should = sound=20 like; doubling the pitch of a guitar piece reduced the amplitude to a ten= th=20 and made it sound like a glass harmonica.=20 One odd thing that makes me think sweep might have more to do with this t= han=20 just blaming the plugin: when I run a file thru MBE the first time it doe= sn't=20 look too bad.
