about the convergence of energy. yes,, i also ever had a similar problem, the 
refraction indeed could messed up your calculation, especially for the 
unstructured grid simulation where coarse grid met a significant change of your 
bathymetry.
some alternative to fix this problem and the description of why this convergence

Hi Matthew,

I did not find any alternative for alleviating wave energy concentrations
other than increasing the grid resolution around the problem area.  In some
cases I have had to go with a spacing as small as 5m.  Note that I was also
seeing very large increase of wave energy, on the order of 400% of the deep
water value.  Some concentration of wave energy is expected around headlands
and other bathymetric prominences, 50% does not seem that unreasonable to
me.  The concentration of energy is generally caused by the focusing effect
of refraction, not triads or quads. Perhaps what you are seeing is physical?
