I assume setting a route to some echolink destination via a gateway that will silently drop the packets without sending back icmp messages should make this easily reproducible - I'm currently at the Easterhegg in Cologne and will drive home tomorrow, so it may take a day or two until I come back with a better report, stay tuned.
