Hello Vilpesh, Even I am a new member of this group. I have just started working with struts menu. I'll tell u as much as I know.=20 Well it's correctly said about struts Menu that "This project is a set of JSP tags that allows creation of many different menu systems from an XML file." =20 The menu & the menu items are taken from the menu-config.xml file where they are pre defined. That is we are sure of what will our menu contain. What you are talking about is dynamic menu, where in you can add menu & menu item on a fly or rather take it from the action class as you have said.=20 For this you can refer to the following http://demo.raibledesigns.com/struts-menu/dynamicMenu.jsp This explains to you how u can configure your menus dynamically. Now since you have configured your menu, it's the time you'll use it in your page. To do this you have follow the step 4. Hope you find this useful. HMB -----Original Message----- From: str...@li... Subject: [struts-menu] newbie + error in integrating struts menu in my application at step 4 hi i have to make dynamic menus where Menu-name will be built in Struts action also the child under the parent will be built in the same struts action. There can be any number of menus and any number of childs under parent. i have decided to use struts-menu. Is Struts-Menu the correct component for my requirement, as the home page says " This project is a set of JSP tags that allows creation of many different menu systems from an XML file. "???????????????????????? But after looking at a Specific Demo at the url (http://demo.raibledesigns.com/struts-menu/)=20 Dynamic, Databased-driven Menu [New!] -=20 i thought my requirement can be fulfilled,so i started to install it. But after following instructions at url=20 http://struts-menu.sourceforge.net/userguide.html under section Integrating Struts Menu into your application i failed at step 4 ie here Add a taglib declaration to the top of your JSP:=20 <%@ taglib uri=3D"http://struts-menu.sf.net/tag" prefix=3D"menu" %> And didnot understand step 3 ie here ???????????????????? You will need to declare your menu's attributes in a yourApp/WEB-INF/menu-config.xml file. Here's a short snippet of what this might look like:=20 <Menu name=3D"contactMenu" title=3D"Contact" location=3D"?Contact"> <Item name=3D"email" title=3D"E-Mail" location=3D"?EMail"/> <Item name=3D"phone" title=3D"Phone" location=3D"?Phone"/> </Menu> please help for my questions marked ????? thanks =09 __________________________________=20 Do you Yahoo!?=20 All your favorites on one personal page - Try My Yahoo! http://my.yahoo.com=20 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IntelliVIEW -- Interactive Reporting Tool for open source databases.
