Updated drivers but that makes no difference I tried the QT SDK 1.2 but It did not install correctly and the windows/mingw files were missing. I gave up this method and got the Qt-Opensource-4.8.0-MinGw.exe files. These installed OK just like the earlier versions except there was no MinGW. I downloaded the Qt version of Mingw440 from the same area and installed that in the root folder. Then installed Qt-Opensource-4.8.0-MinGw.exe with reference to the mingw location. Installation went smoothly. I re-configured MSYS for the new location of MinGW. Compiled build 5208 without bother but it hangs, said crashed before. It hangs. MS calls it a hungapp. No clues from the stellarium log.txt. Next I did a full clean installation of Qt 4.8.0 on another computer as above. then loaded Bzr and collected the main branch of stellarium. I compiled it in MSYS without any problems and it runs OK. No hangup. The problem is something about my main computer (server). The faulty computer is a rebuilt job using a discarded motherboard, processor and memory from a repair job I did about a month ago. The motherboard may have a problem. The main worry is that I have been regularly building the source for years now and this is only the second time the compile has failed to work. The first time was due to a faulty commit and was fixed quickly. I have 6 computers here, networked, and most of them are dual, tripple or quadruple boot. I build in Linux, Windows 7 64bit, Vista and XP. This computer is the only one with a problem at the moment.
