I apologize on the behalf of the development team for the late answer - it seems that most of the developers are occupied with preparing for the holidays. :) This is a very impressive list of credentials indeed. It's nice to have another programmer on board. If you are looking for programming tasks, you can have a look at the bug tracker and the "blueprints" in Launchpad. https://bugs.launchpad.net/stellarium https://blueprints.launchpad.net/stellarium If you want to start working on a task, it's a good idea to write to the mailing list first to make sure that no-one else is working on it and that it is something that we actually need. (The Blueprint tracker is open to all and un-related people often mistakenly use it to submit feature requests.) > I saw yesterday in the Stellarium website that the project needs someone > to help manage the translation process. I think he will join the discussion these days. :) Until now, the main page of the website (stellarium.org) was translated mostly manually - different people got the .php file, translated it and some of the team posted the translation to the website. The problem is that the person who kept in touch with the translators has mostly left the project and the translated pages are out of date. At the very least, this process needs to be re-started. There is an idea of creating a gettext translation template to the website, uploading it to a version control repository (e.g. Stellarium's Bazaar repository in Launchpad) and then using the Translations feature in Launchpad to provide a convenient web-based interface for translation. Matthew Gates may (or may not :) be working on this at the moment. Happy Holidays! Regards, Bogdan Marinov |
