You need to specify the "log" command when sending the request to the Log service: $ staf local log MACHINE logname foolog level error message "Test log message" Error submitting request, RC: 7 Additional info: MACHINE $ staf local log log MACHINE logname foolog level error message "Test log messa ge" Response -------- $ staf local log query MACHINE dave2268 logname foolog Response -------- 20041220-21:01:06|dave2268|18|STAF/Client|Error|Test log message This can sometimes be confusing, if the command you specify for a service request has the same name as the service itself ("staf local log log", "staf local shutdown shutdown", etc.). Do I need to do something special to create the logname? |
