Hallo List, I just downloaded the current STAF source and compiled it on my PowerMac running Mac OS X -- only a few small changes were necessary to get the STAFProc and STAF up and running (haven't tried anything fancy yet). Before diving into technical details, or trying to get other parts to compile, has anybody else worked on this? The only thing that I could find in the mailing list archive was from somebody who tried in 2004, but either he failed or his changes did not make it into the distribution... Would patches to add Mac OS X as target be accepted into the distribution? Ciao, Colin PS: Apart from a few compiler/linker options the only things I have changed so far is to add a mutex around gethostbyname() because the Mac OS X version is not thread safe and there is no gethostbyname_r (), and to add a hack for resolving the local host name since Mac OS X does not resolve the output of uname -n correctly, only `uname - n`.local . |
