The 'screen' utility does already allow you to do that, and even some more, without the need to use X11. Not in the same way (the processes remain alive, waiting to be 'reattached' which may become a problem when 30 people use it on the same computer with not much memory). But that's not a reason to add "checkpointing" to the vanilla Linux 2.8 kernels (or 3.0 ?) of course.. -- Maxime Ritter |
