Hello..... > Does anybody object if I delete the download sections for 1.1 and 1.0 > from: http://openssi.org/cgi-bin/view?page=download.html I don't object...... however, if someone on the mailing list want to host the 1.0 and 1.1 version, that would be useful. Unluckily I don't have much space on my personal free website IMO, the advantage of hosting one or two version back are: 1. For someone studying openSSI development history. Maybe sounds silly for sys admin or ordinary users, but sometimes it is needed for students or researchers. 2. Every new version tends to have larger size on package. Maybe some one want slimmer version in exchange of feature loss? Another suggestion: if 1.2.1 is released, i think 1.1 can be safely deleted because IMO there is no advantage hosting more than one development version. 1.2.1 will considered as fix version of 1.2.0, right? > Users seem to be generally happy with the 1.2.0 stable release, and > an improved 1.2.1 will be created sometime in the near future. Brian, just a humble suggestion, maybe you can create public polling about which openSSI version the users currently use? This way, we can create more interactions with users who don't subscribed on the list and we can grab more detailed statistic of openSSI usage > Also coming down the road is the 1.9.0 development release, with our > new 2.6-based kernel. 2.6.x version is in "wanted list" :)) regards Mulyadi |
