i have done the ground work in setting up courier/ldap/qmail. as a quick test, i have also installed squirrelmail to send and receive mail successfuly. my next hurdle is setting up pop3 client. i have opted to go for fetchmail. i have read couple dozens of howtos, but the more i read, the more confused i am. my maildirs resides in /var/qmail/maildirs, owned by vmail. i have the qmail-ldap roger. roger home dir is /var/qmail/maildirs/roger q1. where do i create .fetchmailrc file? playing with my mr-spock-logic, it would have to be in /var/qmail/maildirs/.fetchmailrc, because i wouldn't want to create a couple thousands of that file under my users homedir, wouldn't i? appreciate if you can include a sample configuration. q2. how does the mailserver knows how to invoke fetchmail. i know that fetchmail is already installed in my linux box. it is run via cron? who runs it? or is it invoked via some qmail's run file? if the last question is true, appreciate if you could show sample run file. please advise. -- confused roger __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
