Personally I'd also rather use official code, and I'm sure a lot of other users feel the same. New users might get confused by references to other sites, and might not know what it entails to "risk" using third-party patches that may or may not do what they intend. I'd rather wait for the author of the plugin to commit changes myself. After all, if a patch is refused, that is the author's prerogative. People don't want quick hacks to be committed into their work, that might break code for people in other places. I also think that the supposed cut-down of mailinglist traffic is a rather silly argument. Johannes |
