There are two ways of making an engine.. It can be a 'pull' or 'push' model.

Smarty for example is more of the 'push' model.. The data ($model) is made available to smarty. The template can
only render what has been passed to it, and cannot ask for more.

On the other side, if templates are straight PHP files doing as little work as possible, they can call some
methods from the SM core to 'pull' data from it.

Which way are we going for? I don't see how you could support both..
