I am a big fan of squirrelmail. I think there is a business opportunity selling it to large companies - many of whom have users with no email accounts. Also in developing countries. Lotus/IBM are going after this market with Lotus Workplace Messaging : http://www.vnunet.com/News/1141053 What I think needs to be done to address this market: 1) Eyecandy - a flashy UI that is optional - mostly for demoing to companies 2) Calendar that can read ics files ( I have written an interface to Lotus Domino) 3) Cleaned up addressbook 4) Automated way to create users (fairly easy scripts) 5) Rich text editing (could be mozilla/ie rich text edit fields) Cheers, Anthony |
