We use UWIMAP, as you guessed. So, in SM Options | Administration I have now changed the server type to UW-IMAP. >If this _is_ UW-IMAP, it doesn't support folders that can contain both >mail and sub folders. When you go to create a folder, put the folder >delimiter on the end, in this case it's a / so in your example: > > My Folder/ It doesn't work. With the / I get: ERROR: Illegal folder name. Please select a different name. If I try creating a folder without the /, but this time I check the box "Let this folder contain subfolders" and create, the new folder name appears in the Folder List, but it is dead. It is not a link, it cannot be opened, mail cannot be moved to it, and no subfolders can be created under it as its name does not appear in the drop-down list for Create a Folder, Rename a Folder, or Delete a Folder. The only way to get them out of the Folder List is to Unsubscribe them. In Options | Admininstration should I leave "Show 'Contain Sub.' Option" set to Yes? In those Admin Options I also have "Enable /NoSelect folder fix" set to yes. Should that be "yes"? What does it do? >Try upgrading to the latest CVS version of 1.4, and see if the problem >persists, some changes were made recently to fix behaviour relating to >folders. Two questions on that: a. is there anything to worry about in using that in a production environment? I had installed the SM 1.4.0 stable release a couple of weeks ago because I'm a conservative newbie. I wouldn't want a newer non-stable release to cause other things to break. b. If it is safe, then where can I get the latest CVS version of 1.4? I read http://squirrelmail.org/download.php, but I don't understand the stuff under CVS. I don't use SSH. Is there a URL for download? I also use WS_FTP if I know access details. Jon, thanks so much for your help. As a server newbie, I am just trying to learn this stuff. I think SM is a great resource and I'm learning. Thanks a lot!!! |
