yess, very good idea. I have a few comments about the implementation in SM. There need to be more changes to SM then just replacing the textarea part by a html editor part. The attachment handling at this moment in SM is "one-dimensional". If SM want to support html editing then this has to change to support inline images. What i mean is that with HTML composed mail there are more mime- boundaries then the one mentioned in the header of a message. An idea would be adding an extra argument to the attachments array which indicate the parent entity-id. In smtp.php we sort the attachments array by parent entity-id and create the corresponding --mimeboundaries and --mimeboundaries--. I think SM needs to create the text/plain entity in the multipart/alternative mime-part of the message because there is already code for it. Any ideas of different implementations of the described "correct" behaviour of SM regarding HTML-composed e-mail are welcome!
