Text entered into tools popup (ctrl-t) is always selected
A Java SQL client for any JDBC compliant database

This regression appeared in 2.5.1, if not earlier.
When you bring up the tools popup with the ctrl-t shortcut, the first letter you enter into the text field is selected (highlighted). So when you enter a second letter, the first is replaced with the second. Unless you take care to deselect the text each time you enter a letter (using the mouse or the "end" key), you're limited to one letter words, which makes the menu a lot less useful.
I'm running on Windows XP.

Can you reproduce the problem in 2.6.1? I tried 2.6.1 (on WinXP) with Java5 and Java6 - neither gave the behavior described. I could type c-o-m-p and the list narrowed to just "completecode".

Yes, I can reproduce the problem on 2.6.1 with Java 1.5.0_09 and 1.6.0_03.
This is a problem of the JGoddies Look and feel and will not be fixed inside SQuirreL. Please choose a different L&F.
