You can see the full docs here, if you're interested: http://www.formencode.org/docs/Validator.html The short form is that the validators are used to convert data from Python's data formats to something appropriate for the database for that column type. They are also used to go the other way: translating from the data stored into the database to an appropriate Python value. I would expect the appropriate validators to be called once per query per column... Kevin |
