The envelope functions in ssm are a little prone to clicking and popping, and you have to learn how they work a little to minimise this. It's a good idea to avoid attack times of 0 as that certainly causes an instant change - which will cause filters and the like down the stream to pop. In other cases it's a good idea to put a smooth stage in after the envelope to remove these instant changes (the smooth plugin is really just a weighted average filter). I've recently tried building this in to envelopes directly (in some other software), which is a little faster as you can do a check to see if it's needed before applying it. I'll add this to the envelopes in ssm at some point. cheers, dave |
