Hi everyone, Well, usr_36GP is gone and hymie_36GP has arrived in its place. This isn't the old hymie robot as seen in hymie_sc1/2, no. This robot is based on Tim Foden's excellent Mouse (formerly Sparky and Dodger in the old http://rars.sf.net competitions), with various enhancements I've added in order to run it in this year's TRB. Much of Mouse's code was also used in simplix, though simplix basically re-invents it and adds a lot more of Wolf-Dieter's ideas. Anyway, this new robot is a lot easier to configure than USR, plus its much better at driving the 36GP cars. SVN now contains the setups for the alfa12c on all road tracks. Fire up a race with Tazio Nuvolari and watch him hurl the car aggressively through corners, often going into power drifts for maximum speed (Nuvolari was one of the early masters of high speed drifting, as it helped him get cars through fast sweepers - he wasn't strong enough to haul down on the steering wheel the normal way). More setups coming, then expect a supercar and trb1 version of hymie. cheers Andrew |
