Hello, guys! I've picked up this cute tiny toy, camera as long as my index finger which supports up to 1248x960 still images and 624x480 video. Of course the problem is that it is not supported yet. Is someone working on this? I'd like to get in touch. Vendor Id: 0x04fc Product Id: 0x504a DSP is Sunplus SPCA504A-P3 (verified by carefully popping open this piece of craftmanship :) ) Sensor (I THINK!) is OmniVision's OV9620. Yes, I did look at the sensor as well, but could not find any markings. What makes me think that it is OV9620 is that they proudly announce (on their press releases page) support for this 1.3M CMOS sensor from Sunplus' SPCA504A. By the way, http://spca50x.sourceforge.net/ lists spca508 OV6620 Fair spca508a is treated as 508, but I could not find in current CVS code any references to any OV sensors! Am I missing something or was support pulled off because of some NDA nastiness on OV part? I've tried to put this Vendor/Product IDs in all 'case' statements in spca50x_probe() in turn, naturally nothing worked. I've got all sorts of usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout drivers/usb/spca50x.c: reg write: error -110 drivers/usb/spca50x.c: [spca50x_write_vector:913] Register write failed for 0x3,0x20,0x3 drivers/usb/spca50x.c: Failed to configure camera except when I pretended that it is a ViewQuest camera, in this case the behaviour was a bit more interesting: after timeouts it did manage to read some information back: drivers/usb/spca50x.c: [spca50x_probe:3466] probing for SPCA50x device... drivers/usb/spca50x.c: USB SPCA50x camera found. Type ViewQuest (SPCA508?+SAA7113?) drivers/usb/spca50x.c: [spca50x_configure:3393] Forcing CCD to one for SPCA508 which doesn't have external input ! usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout drivers/usb/spca50x.c: reg read: error -110 drivers/usb/spca50x.c: [config_spca508:3311] Error reading USB Vendor ID from Global register usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout drivers/usb/spca50x.c: reg read: error -110 drivers/usb/spca50x.c: [config_spca508:3314] Error reading USB Vendor ID from Global register drivers/usb/spca50x.c: [config_spca508:3315] Read from GLOBAL: USB Vendor ID 0xffffff92ffffff92 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout drivers/usb/spca50x.c: reg read: error -110 drivers/usb/spca50x.c: [config_spca508:3319] Error reading USB Product ID from Global register usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout drivers/usb/spca50x.c: reg read: error -110 drivers/usb/spca50x.c: [config_spca508:3322] Error reading USB Product ID from Global register drivers/usb/spca50x.c: [config_spca508:3323] Read from GLOBAL: USB Product ID 0xffffff92ffffff92 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout drivers/usb/spca50x.c: reg read: error -110 drivers/usb/spca50x.c: [config_spca508:3327] Error reading Window 1 Aerage Luminance from Global register drivers/usb/spca50x.c: [config_spca508:3328] Read from GLOBAL: Window 1 average luminance -110 usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout drivers/usb/spca50x.c: reg write: error -110 drivers/usb/spca50x.c: [spca50x_write_vector:913] Register write failed for 0x0,0x0,0x870b drivers/usb/spca50x.c: Failed to configure camera Anyway, please let me know if anyone is interested in hacking this little thing or if I should just drive back to BestBuy and return it? By the way, the BestBuy price was $99, I thought it is pretty good for something which goes to that resolution. Paul B. |
