I tried that with the following code:

     fun printStackTrace e =
         let val ss = SMLofNJ.exnHistory e
         in
             print ("uncaught exception " ^ (exnMessage e) ^ "\n");
             app (fn s => print ("\t" ^ s ^ "\n")) ss
         end

and got this output:

uncaught exception Match (more info unavailable: ExnInfoHook not 
initialized)
         main.sml:6.46

I had no luck finding information about ExnInfoHook. Google doesn't know 
it. :)
