I tried this with the Samsung and got:
 HDIO_DRIVE_CMD failed: Invalid argument
 HDIO_DRIVE_CMD(identify) failed: Invalid argument

Before giving up, I might investigate the possibility of creating a
small ntfs partition and hooking it up to a Windows laptop, and seeing if
the time can be adjusted from there. There is a Samsung Windows utility
that might do it.
