When using "smartctl 5.39.1" on a 17" G4 PowerBook running Mac OS X 10.4.11, various smartctl commands will hang when applying them to an eSATA drive enclosure (OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro mini) with a 500GB Hitachi Travelstar 7K500 (ST9500420AS) disk through a SeriTek/1SM2 cardbus card. using smartctl on other disks (one in the data base & one not) on the same PowerBook work properly. Various Mac OS X applications & commands yield these results: Name Result ==== ====== Disk Utility S.M.A.R.T.
