Smartd (5.40) is reporting temperatures in F, which is really confusing if the original name of the value is "Temperature_Celsius": | Mar 5 19:44:30 eckert-mistpc smartd[26945]: Device: /dev/sdb [SAT], SMART Usage Attribute: 194 Temperature_Celsius changed from 115 to 116 Eg: 115, 116 are most definitely F numbers. And when i use smartctl i actually do get the value in C, so smartd or some library must convert the values to F. | ID# ATTRIBUTE_NAME FLAG VALUE WORST THRESH TYPE UPDATED WHEN_FAILED RAW_VALUE | 194 Temperature_Celsius 0x0022 116 102 000 Old_age Always - 34 Question: How can i change the output to actual C values. Suggestion: in Smartds error logging, thee should be some (C) or (F) to indicate the temperature unit. Cheers Toerless |
