[smartmontools-support] Unrecognized command 12 in ata_command_interface

Hi,
I tried smartctl in FreeNAS (a FreeBSD distribution for usage as 
NAS) and got this error:

I have tried to google but have not been able to find out why this 
happens. Anyone care to explain, please?
