add -nolocalhost option to detect when a daemon is coming up listening on a local host address only, and exit early ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Key: SFOS-1184 URL: http://jira.smartfrog.org/jira/browse/SFOS-1184 Project: SmartFrog Issue Type: New Feature Components: .sfCore Affects Versions: 3.17.x Reporter: Steve Loughran Assignee: Julio Guijarro along with -noipv6, I'd like a -nolocalhost option which would exit the JVM with an error message and code if the network was a localhost only network this is becoming a common problem in linux systems where the network manager adds an entry like 127.0.0.1 myhostname to /etc/hosts, or worse ::1 myhostname this may help laptops find themselves, but stops the machines being visible on the network. A command line option to exit in this situation will stop the daemon coming up in an unusable state. We'd leave it off by default, except maybe on the RPMs. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://jira.smartfrog.org/jira/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira |
