Dear Danishka I tested xkb keymap Sri Lanka -Tamil Unicode (which is also India -Tamil Unicode or Tamil (Unicode) lately) in Fedora 14 and 15 installations that were updated up to yesterday on Open Office / Libre Office writer, gedit and firefox. However, in my Hanthana 14.5 desktop a bug happens when I try to add any layout additional to the default. A screen capture of the bug message is attached. The shown message appeared for each addition of Sri Lanka Tamil Unicode and Sri Lanka (which is Sinhala) and happens for any other addition. Although the two key maps appear in the list of layouts that have been added, on pressing the xkb keyboard tray icon showing USA, nothing happens and it doesn't bring out the list including the other two layouts for selection. So this bug I see in my Hanthana is different to what you have found which is non working of Sri Lanka Tamil Unicode only. I did run the two commands the results of which the bug message requests to include in bug report. Here is the trace: [sethu@sethu ~]$ xprop -root |grep XKB _XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "evdev", "pc105+inet", "us", "", "" _XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "evdev", "pc105+inet", "us", "", "grp:shift_caps_toggle" [sethu@sethu ~]$ gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd layouts = [us,lk tam_unicode,in tam,lk] options = [grp grp:shift_caps_toggle] model = [sethu@sethu ~]$ In a quick look at google resulta I observed this type of bugs had happened in past too, but haven't studied further to find out what is gone wrong in my Hanthana 14.5 installation ~Sethu |
