hi all, as you might know, SEC has been packaged for a number of major Linux distros, including Debian, and the Ubuntu package is a copy from Debian repository. Unfortunately, the Debian package has not been updated for two years and it has become quite stale. Moreover, the most recent version in Debian repository is 2.5.3-nmu, where the last three letters denote "non-maintainer update". In other words, it seems that the package has become pretty much unmaintained. Since Debian and Ubuntu are widely used, it would be fairly sad if the SEC package for these platforms would silently die out. Would anyone be willing to take over packaging activities for the Debian platform? with kind regards, risto |
