Hello. I use a utility called Audio Switcher (found here http://sourceforge.net/projects/audioswitcher/) which allows me to quickly change the Windows default sound device. Using it seems to conflict with Shairport though. When I switch between speakers and headphones (using Audio Switcher) it overrides the output in Shairport. Is there any way of keeping the chosen output locked in Shairport?

I am also having a problem with Windows giving my hardware different device numbers on each reboot which also seems to change the output device. This problem only seems to occur when one or more digital devices are used. If I use an analog connection instead of my SPDIF as an output I don't see this problem.

Thanks,
Chris.

I don't get the point. When you switch Audio and the output of Shairport switches according to your command ... why is this a bug?

The command switches the Windows default sound device. I don’t
understand why it should effect what I've set in shairport. Is there no
      way to lock it?

      Thanks,
      Chris
