I'm left with two files (.z01 & .z02) first 4.3GB second 0.9GB. I used 7zip manager and says there are over 2,500 files in the .z01 file. When I try to extract them i get: Can't open file filename.z01 as archive.
Is there a way of extracting those files?
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
The files were created by a software called Cobian Backup. The type of archive is 7z. What do you mean by sayin 7z does not support multi-volume? How on earth did Cobian do that then?

7-Zip doesn't support .z01 multi-volume ZIP archives.

.z01 extension is used by multivolume ZIP archive.
Multivolume .7z archive volumes must look like
archive.7z.001
archive.7z.002
…
SOLVED!
Believe me or not, but a soft called PowerArchiver 2011 (in its 30 day evaluation mode) opened those two files and extracted most files from inside.
