    7-Zip 15.03 alpha was released.

    This is a development version.
Don't use this alpha version to process important files and archives.
The code of this version contains big number of changes.
And probably there are some new BUGs.
If you use 7-Zip 15.03 alpha, check 7-Zip's forum periodically for updated information.
If you need more stable version, you can use previous version: 7-Zip 9.38 beta.

Please write here about any new BUGs of this version.

    7-Zip for 32-bit Windows:

    http://dl.7-zip.org/7z1503.exe
    or
    http://dl.7-zip.org/7z1503.msi

    7-Zip for 64-bit Windows x64:

    http://dl.7-zip.org/7z1503-x64.msi

    What's new after 7-Zip 9.38 beta:

    • 7-Zip now can create 7z, xz and zip archives with 1536 MB dictionary for LZMA/LZMA2.
    • 7-Zip File Manager now can operate with alternate file streams at NTFS
volumes via "File / Alternate Streams" menu command.
    • 7-Zip now can extract .zipx (WinZip) archives that use xz compression.
    • new optional "section size" parameter for BCJ2 filter for compression ratio improving.
Example: -mf=BCJ2:d9M, if largest executable section in files is smaller than 9 MB.
    • Speed optimizations for BCJ2 filter and SHA-1 and SHA-256 calculation.
    • Console version now uses stderr stream for error messages.
    • Console version now shows names of processed files only in progress line by default.
    • new -bb[0-3] switch to set output log level. -bb1 shows names of processed files in log.
    • new -bs[o|e|p][0|1|2] switch to set stream for output messages;
      o: output, e: error, p: progress line; 0: disable, 1: stdout, 2: stderr.
    • new -bt switch to show execution time statistics.
    • new -myx[0-9] switch to set level of file analysis.
    • new -mmtf- switch to set single thread mode for filters.
    • The BUG was fixed:
7-Zip didn't restore NTFS permissions for folders during extracting from WIM archives.
    • The BUG was fixed:
The command line version: if the command "rn" (Rename) was called with more
than one pair of paths, 7-Zip used only first rename pair.
    • The BUG was fixed:
      7-Zip crashed for ZIP/LZMA/AES/AES-NI.
    • Some bugs were fixed.

    What's new after 7-Zip 15.02 alpha:

    • The BUG in 15.01-15.02 was fixed:
7-Zip created incorrect ZIP archives, if ZipCrypto encryption was used.
7-Zip 9.20 can extract such incorrect ZIP archives.

Can't unpack .ZIPX? This not bug then WinZip starting with version 12.1 uses a new proprietary archive format based on "PkWare .ZIP File Format Specification v6.3.4" and using algorithms BZip, LZMA, PPMd for data compression, but the main thing that makes it a decompression problem is different purpose archive header fields that causes a read error container. While I know of only one logger capable of reading it - PeaZip, and can see how it is to organize the work with ZIPX? I think what to do (and what if required) from scratch ignoring the fact that we already know it's a waste of time because the prototype is not formally protected by patents or explicitly prohibit use of the experience of colleagues for such tasks? :)

Dear Igor, if you have the opportunity to spread the source code to this version, I would be very grateful. This will change the program to suit with my needs without distracting you. Thanks!

Yes, I plan to release source code soon.
Now I don't start any changes in code that can delay it.

Thanks Igor, the thing where you update packaged exe files finally works again after years! ;)

There is no need to delay the change of code, you can simply publish the code to the public alpha, as it already is in beta, and publish a link only to forum. So the source code will find only those who really need them.

Wav files in sfx archives aren't extracting. I'm receiving a compression error (they extract properly by command line).

Open that archive with 7-Zip and look "Method" column for that wav file.

Yes, SFX code now doesn't support "Delta" filter that is used for WAV files.
I'll fix that problem in next version.
      Thanks!

The error occurred with both LZMA and LZMA2. I'm present back using 9.38.

    Hi!
I used WinRAR and 7-zip,there's a long time.
But I found that,it can't minimize into the system tray zone(the "Background" botton),when it compresss or extract big file(s).I must change to WinRAR.
I think when people compress or extract file, can do other things,at the same time, like WinRAR(WinRAR has this function, always).
So,I think this function is very useful for 7-zip user.I suggest 7-zip can add this function.:)
    Thanks a lot.
