The bugs in SWM (WIM), EXE (PE) and CHM code were fixed.
Also there are some internal changes in source code for better compatibility with VS2015 C++ compiler. There were some warnings with that compiler. But 7-Zip 16.01 binaries were compiled with old compilers. There is no any speed gain with new compiler in my tests. So I still test that new compiler.

Igor, I'm still getting Warnings: There are some data after the end of the payload data in new version, just like I talked about in verson 16.00. Again, I also get the same error when I open old archive files made with previous versions of 7-Zip. I never got these errors before version 16.

OK, first this only happens in slit files (700MB), all single files are fine. Previous versions question, I get the same thing in archives I have made with 15.02-15.14 (don't know if I still have older ones) that are split. To BillAnt, this is just a false error, all files extract just fine. Finally, Igor there is no second file, only error.

Also try to open that "bad" archive in 7-zip. Then press "Info" button, copy the text from "Info" window with Ctrl+C to clipboard and insert that text here.

Sometimes you have to try the first 4 options in the context menu parser to find a method which opens your particular package. Then try opening the extracted files with first 4 context menu methods again to get the raw files. This is a very powerful way to open hard to open packages.

What's new after 7-Zip 16.00:
Please, could you kindly add checksums for the download packages?
I totally agree, but md5 is not needed. Instead a PGP-signature would be fine.

List of bugs fixed please. As you know, IMO you should always put these into the announcement 'some bugs were fixed' is not very useful!

Are there any security fixes in this release that we should be aware of?

1) Open these archives in parser mode via context menu
and look file data after main archive in second file.
2) What archive files made with previous versions of 7-Zip do you mean?
what archive type?

Did you try to open these files in parser mode via context menu ?

Yes, there is BUG in latest versions with split archives.
It reports wrong total size.
I'll fix it soon.
Thanks for report !!!
Thank you Igor, I appreciate all the hard work you do. Your products are top-notch and you are very gracious with your time/support.
