I don't think there is anything wrong with it. If you had put "test.filename.7z" it would work as it is supposed to. The only time there is an issue is when you don't put a suffix, and even then it is inconsequencial as you can just correct it manually.

i explain the problem with an example:
in "Add to archive" dialog
note: option "create SFX archive" must be uncheked !
i write a string in "Archive" text cell:
"this is a sample.filename to explain the problem"
Then i check the option "create SFX archive"
and here is the problem.
the string in "Archive" text cell now is:
"this is a sample.exe"
You can see that the part of the original string after the dot is lost.
I think this is an incorrect behavior
