I installed 7 zip from there:
http://dl.7-zip.org/7z925.msi
The installation can't proceed without closing Explorer process (win Vista), after I closed him I had to restart the computer to restart Explorer. Now The antivirus is not automatically started when I boot the computer.
This is definitely not a bug. When 7-Zip is installed, it integrates into Explorer's context menu. Restarting Explorer is the only documented way to do that. Many programs featuring shell integration (WinRAR, for example) do exactly the same thing (however, the older ones offer to restart the whole Windows).
By the way, I have seen the
Ignore
button in that dialog. 7-Zip will proceed without restarting Explorer if you press it. Of course, no context menu will appear until Explorer is restarted.I had the same problem just now and I have never had this problem in all the years I have used 7Z. I had a hell of a time finding out what PID it wanted closed too as my Task manager didn't show PIDs. So I tried process explorer and saw that the PID was Explorer! I did restart it and tried to install again and nothing. So I just chose to ignore and 7Z installed adding the CRC check sum context menu. The thing is I have 7Z installed on Windows 7 32 on the laptop with no problem. When installing on the Windows 7 64 desktop with the 64 bit version I had this trouble.
