Hi David, you should not abandon categories at all. You probably only should use them differently. Think of a category as a placeholder for a certain type of pages that can hold their specific properties, have their specific semantic form or have their drilldown interface. Maybe this [1] can help you further (whether you use Semantic Forms yet or not).
