Since binaries from SDCC are machine independent, and since the current
installation in SourceForge doesn't allow the building of the PIC16 specific
libraries, I decided to publish binaries of the core libraries needed by
The URL for these archives is: http://users.otenet.gr/~vrokas/pic/sdcc.html
which provides links to the files. The archive format is:
pic16lib-core-20040626.tgz (There is also a .zip version)
You can automatically download them from:
Of course the date stamp will be updated from time to time with fresh
The archives should be unpacked in the directory where SDCC normally searches
for libraries and headers. This is by default /usr/local/share/sdcc but it
can be changed when configuring SDCC. The user should change to that
directory and unpack the archive. All binaries and headers will be placed in
the correct places replacing older files.
This should be a quick solution for many people that have problems building
the libraries or don't know how to perform the procedure.
