screem by default uses utf-8. when an html page is in utf-8 there is no need to encode those characters, or any others that aren't markup related. It doesn't do any harm encoding them. You aren't doing anything wrong.

I'm working with screem 0.1.6 and when i'm writting in spanish, the accents ("ó á é í ò è ...") are not autoencoded like "ñ , ç" does.

if you type & then type the character between the &; it should complete to the correct entity
