We get a certain amount of justifiable user complaints which are probably attributable to the conservatism of the gc. I know that Martin is working on making the gc substantially less conservative; I also think it would be nice to have a precise gc on x86oids. Does anyone feel brave enough to give an estimate for the amount of work it would take? (I make no promises, but it's possible that a donations channel could fund some Actual Work on sbcl -- decent estimates are likely to be crucial for establishing that as a viable model).
