I'm using SBCL 1.0.7 on Linux. I noticed yesterday that arguments for SB-EXT:RUN-PROGRAM are coerced to a SIMPLE-BASE-STRING, which fails if it is given Unicode arguments. I'm on UTF-8 locale, I have Unicode file names on my system, and I'd like to pass them to program, encoded in UTF-8 -- looks like an entirely valid use case to me. Is there any chance that SB-EXT:RUN-PROGRAM will accept arguments' (or process') coding system, preferably defaulting to one specified by locale, or at least accept pre-encoded byte arrays as arguments?
