Hello All, After much consideration I have decided not to extend my term as President and CEO of the Sahana Software Foundation. A year ago I stepped into this role to help identify a plan forward for the Sahana community and to find the resources to help us get there. Although we did a great job developing our Strategic Plan together, finding funding to support it has been less successful. The donors and other disaster management actors I have spoken to see value in Sahana, but they want to direct funding through partners on the ground, rather to the Sahana Software Foundation. We have seen this over the past year with the CAP-on-a-Map project, SahanaCamp Turkey and Los Angeles Community Resilience Mapping project and the new the new Washington State Common Operating Picture platform project which we are just starting work on. Although this provides some funding, this does not currently enable our strategic goal and changes what is needed from our CEO. Over my transition I will instead work to create more opportunities for the community to lead their own initiatives to support Sahana. There are still a number of housekeeping duties which are crucial to the foundation, such as accounts and infrastructure, which I am working through with the board. In this regard Devin Balkind will be stepping in to support our ongoing projects. Please feel free to share any input you may have or let us know if you would like to be actively involved in planning the transition. We are currently planning our Annual General Meeting for to be held virtually over the weekend of 19-20 September where we can discuss and decide on the details of the the transition together. Invitations will later this week. It has been a huge privilege to serve as the CEO of the Sahana Software Foundation and I would like to thank all of you for your support over the last year.
