This project is exactly what I need but I fear it no longer works? I tried getting it all up and running in Windows 7 64-bit. I ran it and could access the web-based interface. The web-based interface could also connect to my Amazon S3. However, when trying to access the S3 via adding a network place of http://127.0.0.1:8070 Windows 7 refused to connect to it. When trying to connect instead over FTP Windows 7 would connect, but generated an error when accessing a Bucket. Is this broken for Windows 7? Is it an abandoned project? I see there haven't been any updates in a long while. Ryan Davis |

Ok, i managed to find the source of the problem. What happens is that the SimpleDateFormat used to generate the date header value is using the default locale of the JVM. My system being set to french, the resulting string does not comply with the amazon spec. Forcing the locale of the SimpleDateFormat to Locale.US fixed the problem. Nicolas. Hi, I'm new to S3 and i'm trying to use s3DAV to perform operations, but i can't get it to connect to the service properly. The console is giving me a 403 error when trying to list my buckets in the admin page. I guess it means that the request signature is invalid, but i checked my account info several times with two different accounts with no luck. I've used the exact same account infos with a different client and it works fine. Any idea on this one ? Here's part of the logs: >s3> Request:GET / >s3> ERROR: code=403 amzRequestId=5802851415AD06E9, amxId2=7imMw4b04toeJ6hZnebz7frln6WywjSUeQXPUZpwXDL4DbCPc3ixAtlhc2cDnB7i >s3> Error retrieving buckets java.io.IOException: Can't get buckets at org.carion.s3.operations.ServiceGET.execute(ServiceGET.java:51) at org.carion.s3.impl.S3RepositoryImpl.getBuckets(S3RepositoryImpl.java :242) at org.carion.s3.admin.htmlPages.BucketsPage.page(BucketsPage.java:54) at org.carion.s3.admin.htmlPages.AdminPage.getHtmlPage(AdminPage.java :147) at org.carion.s3.admin.htmlPages.AdminPage.getHtmlPage(AdminPage.java :108) at org.carion.s3.admin.AdminServer.process(AdminServer.java:48) at org.carion.s3.http.HttpServer$HttpHandler.run(HttpServer.java:163) Thanks, Nicolas. |

This is absolutely wonderful, just the tool I am looking for. Great work Pi= erre=0ACarion.=0A=0AI'm working on integrating s3dav, Netdrive, and TrueCry= pt all into a thumb drive so I can access my s3 directory from any windows = machine. One feature I'd really like to see would be the option to configur= e where the log file and encrypted s3 login info file lives. Since I'm tryi= ng to pack all of this stuff in a thumb drive having my logs and encrypted = login file in my windows user directory is inconvenient. I'd really like th= em to live in my thumb drive.=0A=0AI'm working to combine s3dav and TrueCry= pt because of their open source nature. I trust these apps as opposed to so= me other propitiatory applications used to access s3. If there is anything = I can do to help the cause, let me know. I'm a native C# / ASP.Net programm= er by trade, but I know a little Java. I wouldn't mind contributing content= via documentation say=0Aperhapses in the form of a wiki or site forum? Hi s3DAV-0.6 looks like just the thing I'm looking for. I've installed it and am testing with Netdrive. I threw a large file copy task at it by dragging a folder to the mapped drive... it started to work but soon started reporting errors. Here is the log from netdrive Create /Paul/Personal Upload /Paul/Personal/2003-05-17 Car Accident.doc No HTTP response code found No HTTP response code found Can't upload file Mirrored file \Paul\Personal\2003-05-17 Car Accident.doc Upload /Paul/Personal/Christmas Card List.doc No HTTP response code found No HTTP response code found Can't upload file Mirrored file \Paul\Personal\Christmas Card List.doc Is there anything special I should do when configuring net drive? Oh, and any chance you could add delete bucket to the "Buckets Page"? :-) Many thanks Paul |

The version 0.6 of s3DAV has been released. It's now possible to use spaces or '&' in the names of files and directories. In the buckets page of the admin console ( http://127.0.0.1:8070/index.html?page=3Dbuckets) you can now see the 'raw listings' of all the objects which have been store= d in your buckets (even the objects not created with s3DAV). You also have a way to delete those objects. There is now a cache mechanism used to cache the 'HEAD' requests. This should improve the performances as a lot of 'HEAD' request are done to get the status of the file system. Enjoy ! Pierre |

All, s3DAV 0.4 is now available. Two main changes in this release : 1) the spaces in names are now properly managed. 2) the logs can now be read from the admin page ( http://127.0.0.1:8070/index.html) in the "Logs page" Still working on the "Mac" problems ... Pierre |

In the 0.3 release (and prior), there's a bug when you put a space in the name of a directory. This directory is basically not usable (you can't for instance, create a directory in this directory). The bug is fixed in the current development release and will be pushed in the next release (0.4). In the meantime, avoid using spaces in directory names. Pierre |
